Rituals – Architecture & Inclusive Design

Proclaiming Holy Scriptures

In this book, I offer a comprehensive study on the proclamation of Holy Scriptures as an enacted celebration. I also explore its role as a performance within sacralized theatrical spaces. Scripture is integral to religious life within Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These traditions have venerated the reading of texts from an appointed place as a sacred act.

David H. Pereyra

An Interdisciplinary Researcher

My area of skill is the trans-disciplinary study and comparison of phenomenological and hermeneutical aspects in architecture and ritual. This is done in a multidimensional perspective, across philosophy, art forms, place, and space. Since 1985, my academic focus has been the interaction of ritual activities and space. I aim to strengthen the dialogue between contemporary life, culture, and the rites of everyday life. The aim of my research is to discover ways in which rituals can deepen the experience. It also seeks to find how art expressions can enhance knowledge. They can also increase accessibility for people in vulnerable situations.
